Dear Liberty Families and Staff,
In collaboration with Tulare County Office of Education and other Tulare County Schools, it has been decided that Liberty Elementary will remain closed until further notice due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. When we closed the district on Monday, March 16th we originally looked at opening back up on Tuesday, April 14th, but due to the Governor’s ongoing Shelter in Place Executive Order, the original reopening date had to be delayed. As we work through this continuing school closure, we want to reassure you that we will be providing information through social media outlets, our website, and through phone calls. Week 3 School packets are available for pick up now through next week. If you need packets for Week 1 and/or 2 please contact the office. Lunches will continue to be served on Monday and Thursdays at our cafeteria and at the designated bus drop off points. The following criteria will be used to determine when and if Liberty Elementary is to reopen for student attendance: 1. The California State Shelter in Place Executive Order has been lifted. 2. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tulare County and/or California has remained constant for a two-week period or declined. 3. The directive to Social Distance has been removed by the State of California 4. The limit of people placed on social gatherings has been removed by the State of California. Concern over school closures may cause anxiety and worry for your children. Please continue to reassure them that school closures are a precaution for them and your family's safety. If you have any questions or need any resources, please feel free to contact the Office.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these unprecedented times.
Sincerely, Keri Montoya Superintendent/Principal
